On behalf of the Frederick County SHRM Board of Directors, I would like to welcome you to FCSHRM's website. As our 2017 chapter President, I am looking forward to engaging with our members and guests at our monthly chapter meetings and our Annual Conference, which will once again be held in May this year.
Frederick County SHRM, officially first known as Frederick County Personnel Association, began on September 24, 1975 with 30 members. The group was founded by the first President, Joseph E. Galbraith, who was a Civilian Personnel Officer at Fort Detrick. Since 1975, FCSHRM has been devoted to serving HR professionals in our community by providing education and resources essential to the professional growth and development of our members.
We are looking forward to engaging with the Frederick community through our newly restructured Community Outreach Committee, which will consolidate our efforts with Veteran's Initiatives, Educational Institutions, the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce and other Community Partners.
Please plan to join one of our monthly lunch meetings, which are generally held the fourth Thursday of the month, to learn more about us. In the meantime, please take this opportunity to explore our website, learn about our volunteer leaders and see all we offer the developing HR professional.
Meg Timmons, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, CEBS
President, Frederick County Society of Human Resources Management (FCSHRM)
